Epsom Salt for Acne Home Remedy

Growing up I used to have the worse acne. I had tried seemingly everything and it simply wouldn't go away. As you may know, acne can be hereditary. My mother also had it growing up. At the time, there weren't many acne treatments in Cuba, and she always swore that what worked for her was applying Epsom salt to the affected areas.
Epsom salt, also known as magnesium sulphate, is used as a drying agent. It is similar to sea salt. You can find it at your local supermarket, and it's really inexpensive. The name dates back hundreds of years to the mineral abundant waters of Epsom, England.
It has a variety of medical uses taken in both oral and topical form. Using Epsom salt for acne though should be used solely as a topical solution. People will often fill up their bathtub and soak in Epsom salt to ease body aches and muscle pain. The same can be used as a treatment for stubborn chest and back acne. It can also be applied to the face by mixing about a tablespoon of it with a cup or two of warm water. Clean your face first before applying the solution. It can be used daily.
I don't know about any medical studies about Epsom salt and acne, but people continue to claim that it works. From personal experience, I can tell you that it really dries up your skin. It did help me. If you've tried other treatments without success, it wouldn't hurt to give it a shot. You can ask your dermatologist what they think.
