Baby acne is an acne type which affects newborn. More than 20% of babies are affected by it. It is not a problem with proper treatment and care. It can be alleviated effectively and easily.
It is resulted from maternal hormones, which cross the placenta and stimulate sebaceous glands in the newborn. Maternal hormones cause pimples all over the skin of the baby, and it irritate oil glands of the newborn. Baby's acne also may result from baby medications or even mother medications. It occurs on the back, chin, neck and face of the baby. It is looks like whitehead or pimples and is surrounded by reddish spot.

ppeared anytime between the delivery time and 21 days of age. It resolves itself by the four months age and it will not leave any scars on the skin of the baby. It also may be itchy and irritating for babies.
Baby acne treatment:
It is very easy. You need to wash the face of your newborn gently with water and mild soaps once or twice a day. You mustn't scrub the skin of your baby and pat it dry. Note that: you shouldn't over wash baby's skin too much as this cause irritation.
You shouldn't apply any oil or lotion to the skin of your newborn as they may worsen acne. You need to wash bed lines, towels, blankets, clothes and other things which your baby comes in contact with.
You may use over the counter medication if your baby acne is more sever. You can use hydrocortisone cream and other ionic colloidal silver solution. They can treat baby acne as they kill the bacteria. They also can reduce itching and promote healthy skin growth.
