Depending on how much you weight and the responsibilities you have in life, you could do anything from regular 24 hour fasts to rare 30 day fasts. The best thing? It's not just cheap, you'll save money by not having to buy food.
There are a lot of theories about how fasting helps with acne. One of the reason fasting helps is because during a fast, you are not consuming gluten or dairy, both of which can promote acne if you are sensitive. You are also not overeating, creating blood sugar spikes. You are not promoting inflammation in the body.
